Menopausal vaginal rejuvenation

Brain fog, hot flushes, mood swings — menopause often comes with a host of unwanted symptoms that can make you feel like you barely know your body.

It can affect every part of you, including your vagina.

As your hormones run rogue, you may find yourself experiencing:

  • vaginal dryness
  • a decreased libido (low sex drive)
  • difficulties becoming physically aroused
  • leaking urine when you put your body under ‘stress’ known as [stress incontinence](link to stress incontinence
  • pain during sex
  • itchiness in and around your vagina
  • a more frequent and urgent need to urinate
  • a lack of sensitivity in the area
  • frequent urinary tract infections (UTIs)
  • frequent yeast infections and bacterial infections.

Despite how common these vaginal symptoms are, specialist menopause healthcare is often behind the times.

The lack of understanding and solutions can be frustrating, especially when you’re already attempting to navigate your menopause symptoms.

At FemRevive, Shelley offers her specialist knowledge on your vaginal concerns and can help treat your symptoms with HIFU vaginal rejuvenation.

She is also able to help with any aesthetic concerns you may be having at this time.

During and after menopause, your collagen (a protein responsible for your skin’s elasticity and strength) production declines. This can cause sagging skin and a loss of muscle tone.

In the vagina, this can cause a lack of tone in tissues such as the labia majora.

Despite being a natural part of ageing, it can make some women feel self-conscious and embarrassed, impacting their sex lives.

HIFU vaginal rejuvenation is not only used internally. It can also be used externally to tighten, plump and tone areas like your labia and vulva, creating a neater appearance.

This can help to boost your sexual confidence and make sex more pleasurable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Blame hormones. Waning levels of oestrogen and progesterone can affect the thin layer of moisture coating the vaginal walls.

Less oestrogen may cause the tissues of the vulva and the lining of the vagina to become thinner, drier, and less elastic or flexible.
